This book is about Camille, a reporter for a small newspaper in Chicago. Her editor sends her to her hometown to report on a recent serial killer of young girls. It goes on to tell the details of her relationship between herself and a cast of somewhat strange characters in her hometown and her investigation of the murders.
I have previously read Flynn’s ‘Gone Girl’ and ‘Dark Places’. I enjoyed both books and found them twisted by entertaining, so I figured this would be equally as good
However, I found ‘Sharp Objects’ to be very predictable and the characters hollow and unbelievable. I also found the plot to be somewhat predictable and more gross then dark, really. I do also think it sheds light on a few important issues. So I give it 3 1/2 stars.
